The John Carroll, SJ Collection contains original and transcribed correspondence; two religious manuscripts; biographical notes and news clippings; and miscellaneous documents related to the first Roman Catholic bishop in the United States and the first archbishop of Baltimore. Of note are transcriptions of letters exchanged with Fr. Charles Plowden in folders 1, 2, and 6.
Printed plan for completing the Panama Canal by J. Revin, dated April 1891 with two sheets of "improvements" dated November 1891. Revin proposes using inclined planes, instead of locks, to complete the canal. Written in French and includes some technical drawings.
